Hydrogenated petroleum resin is produced through the hydrogenation process of petroleum resin. This process involves converting the unsaturated hydrocarbons in petroleum resin into saturated hydrocarbons, thereby improving the color, odor, and weather resistance of the product. The resulting hydrogenated petroleum resin is typically water white in color and odorless, with a relative density of 1.01. It exhibits enhanced aging resistance compared to conventional petroleum resin.

It can be used as a binder or additive in various industries such as adhesives, wax, tires, paints and inks to enhance their performance. For example, in the adhesives industry, hydrogenated petroleum resin can improve the tackiness, adhesion, and heat resistance of the adhesive. In paints and coatings, it can enhance the gloss, hardness, and weather resistance of the coating film.In tires it can improve the performance of anti-slip.
